end of the night musings the blues.

tonight's cubs/angels game was definitely a fine afternoon of quality baseball. i won't dig too deep into this one, but in the name of gloating, vladimir guerrero had a really nice day at the plate. he had three run scoring singles, the last one being a clutch one in the bottom of the 11th or 12th inning with two outs on a good pitch from latroy hawkins. i think his final line was 3-5 or 3-6 with 3 RBI.

i found this cubs/angels series to be really enjoyable. while the offenses were potent for the most part, at times good pitching prevailed, and there ended up being some pretty clutch tense moments throughout the series. game three was a rubber game, and it went into somewhere around 14 innings to decide who would win. both of these teams figure to be there in the thick of the pennant race, and this was a small dose of octoberian baseball here in the near-middle of june.
